    Dear Sponsor/Captain,

Welcome back! On behalf of the Officers and Executive Board, it is my pleasure to welcome you and your team to the 38th season of team competition in the QUAKER CITY ENGLISH DART LEAGUE, Inc.  This year we have several new board members joining us and we look forward to their ideas and input.


 

As we do each year, we have reviewed the By-Laws and Rules and Regulations. There are a couple of items to bring to your attention. Forfeit time is now 8:15pm – REMEMBER, you can start a match with only 3 players – if you do not have 3 players by 8:15, you have other issues.  Also, the bottom 3 Div’s on Thurs night will return to playing a 13 game format. Anyone playing in the ASL is a member of the QCEDL. There is an insert for the ASL for anyone wishing to play singles. Standings will be available via Phillydarts.com and QCEDL.COM.


 

A league meeting schedule will be included in the Captain’s team packet as well as other important information pertaining to league meetings, dart shoots and fund raisers. REMEMBER – meetings are for the membership; regular attendance is one of the requirements of being a team captain or co–captain. If you are a captain, make sure to share the information with your team and your sponsors.


IMPORTANT: As we did last year, we will be holding team registration starting in August. We are doing this for several reasons, one of which being the ability to have the 1st half end before Christmas without having to shoot the week leading up to the Holidays. The registration meetings will be held on Saturday,  August 27th and Sunday, August 28th and Sept 3rd & 4th from 12noon-2:00 pm, both at Curran’s Irish Inn (Longshore & Old State Road). GET THE WORD OUT.

FAILURE TO REGISTER A TEAM IS NOT THE LEAGUE’S FAULT AND PAST SPONSORSHIP OR MEMBERSHIP DOES NOT A GUARANTEE SPOT IN THE LEAGUE.

Please fill in all information requested on the registration form as completely as possible.  This includes the correct address and spelling of the sponsoring bar, player names, phone numbers, checking the box for the desired night of play and the division shot last season.  Incomplete forms will not be accepted.  Rosters will not be accepted without the appropriate registration sponsor and player monies.

 

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THERE BE PLAYER ADD ONS AFTER YOUR TEAM IS PLACED IN YOUR DIVISION  EXCEPT BY RULE UNDER ARTICLE XVI-4 & AT THE DISCRETION OF THE BOARD.

REGISTRATION & SPONSOR FEES

Sponsors note:  This is a combined fee.  It covers the league sponsorship fee and the cost on an official league dart board for each team registered.
 

Sponsor Fee:

1 Team = $165.00

    **Each additional team $150.00

For example:  a team with 8 players + sponsor = $485 for the year

PLAYER DUES

TOTAL PLAYER DUES FOR THE SEASON ARE $40.00 PER PLAYER AND ARE DUE IN FULL BY THE PICKUP MEETINGS.

ANY MONEY OWED FROM PREVIOUS YEARS MUST BE PAID BEFORE A PLAYER OR SPONSOR WILL BE ALLOWED BACK IN THE LEAGUE

There will also be 2 pick-up meetings – Saturday, September 17th from 1pm-3pm and Sunday, September 18th from 12pm-2pm, at Currans Irish Inn.

The Advanced Singles League


Registration: September 8th – LOD at 8:30 p.m


Where: Tacony Billiard’s every Thursday Night

Playing Location: Tacony Billiard’s

Cost: ZERO Every player must sell 40 raffles at $5.00 each. The prizes are as follows”

2 Phillies Season Ticket Packages.

1-17 Game Sunday Package Section 330 row 1 seats 3&4

Duration: 20 weeks broken into four - 5 week quarters plus one tournament after each 10 week half.

Format:   All Singles 501 easy on double off
This is a two bracket system consisting of the top 8 as A Bracket and the rest of the field as B Bracket.  The first 5 weeks of play the format is LOD into groups of four with round robin play within your group.  We simply draw cards to determine who falls into which group and play is according to the board sheet.  Every player will play 3 games against 3 opponents per night. We use a simple point system – One Win equals One Point.   At the end of the first quarter, the top 8 player in terms of points moves to the A bracket and the rest of the field stays in the B bracket.
We then play out another five weeks with the B bracket functioning as in the first quarter.  The top 8 will play each of the other seven opponents a scheduled match (some weeks one match and some weeks two matches) consisting of 9 games and each game will be worth one point with a win percentage.  After the first half is over we will have a LOD tournament for all players with a Prize for the top 4-8 (depending on the amount of raffles sold).
  
Prizes: This is NOT a money league. All dues paid or otherwise raised are for the use of sponsoring our players for various tournaments. The ASL awards the top players from each bracket (to be announced) a fully paid room and entry for the singles event of that tournament chosen by ASL. In the event that player can not attend that tournament, the player will receive the cash equivalent of that prize. The tournaments will be announced prior to the end of the first half. PDC events are our top priority with others in mind.
